Get Help With Home Movie Theater for Chrome Web Browser

Eight steps to help you get the most out of your Personalized Movie Theater—the Magic Actions app for Chrome web browser—and enjoy watching movies, TV shows, HD and 4K videos. The app is available for download on the Chrome Chrome Web Store, or you can also download and install it manually from our website.

1. Check for the Latest App Updates

It's very important to always use only the latest version of the app for Chrome web browser, as we are constantly improving and updating our web browser extension. See the instructions on how to check and update the app to the latest version.

The latest version of the app for Google Chrome is 7.9.5.1 (released on May 2, 2021).

2. Update Chrome Web Browser

For your security, privacy, and data protection, we recommend using the latest stable version of your Google Chrome web browser. The app may not work properly if you are using an older or unstable version (Beta, Developer, Canary) of your Google Chrome web browser. Check what is the latest Chrome stable version.

Check for Chrome Updates

How to update Google Chrome web browser manually

1. In Google Chrome, click the customize icon and navigate to Help.

2. Select About Google Chrome.

3. The About Chrome page will open and Chrome will begin checking for updates automatically when you're on this page.

Note: If you're having problems updating Chrome, follow the instructions here

3. Add the Website to the Whitelist

On the chromeactions.com website, we provide free features like access to advanced options, online image editor, etc., which may not work as expected if ad blocking software is installed. In order to avoid any malfunctions of the app, see the instructions on how to add chromeactions.com to the whitelist.

4. Check for Conflicting Apps and Extensions

Various issues can be caused by conflicts with some other installed extensions and apps, especially for YT. If you notice that the app is not working as expected, we recommend that you disable all active extensions one by one, except the Magic Actions app—your Personalized Movie Theater—in order to check if a particular extension is causing the problem.

How to check for conflicting extensions and apps

1. In Google Chrome, click the customize icon and navigate to More tools.

2. Select Extensions.

3. On the extensions page, next to every extension except the Magic Actions app, click the blue toggle switch so it changes to gray

4. Click the customize icon and select Exit to close Chrome completely. It's important!

5. Open Chrome web browser, go to the YT website and check if the problem exists.

5. Clear Browsing Data

In our experience, clearing browsing data, the cache, cookies, local web storage, and other browsing data, helps solve many different problems 90% of the time.

How to clear Chrome browsing data

1. In Google Chrome, press Ctrl+Shift+Del on Windows and Linux, Ctrl+Shift+Backspace on Chromebook, or Command+Shift+Backspace on Mac.

2. The Clear browsing data dialog appears, select All time next to the Time range.

3. Select the options you'd like, then click the Clear data button.

Note: After clearing your browsing data, you can get logged out of your online accounts.

6. Check if JavaScript is Enabled

The extension's settings and some of the features we provide on our website may not work if JavaScript is disabled in your browser.

How to enable JavaScript

1. Copy and paste chrome://settings/content/javascript into address bar and press Enter.

2. On the JavaScript page, allow JavaScript globally or add chromeactions.com to the "Allow" list.

7. Make Sure the Required Permissions are Set

The required permissions are added automatically when the Magic Actions web browser extension (your Personalized Movie Theater) is installed from the Chrome Web Store, but it can be changed later, which may cause the extension to stop working as expected.

How to choose the right permissions

1. Right-click on the app toolbar icon and select Manage Extensions.

2. On the extension page, select the On all sites checkbox in the Site access section.

8. Repair Corrupted Options

Sometimes the app settings file can be corrupted, which can cause the app to malfunction. To fix this problem, we suggest that you reinstall the application in your Google Chrome web browser.

How to reinstall the extension

1. In Google Chrome, click the customize icon and navigate to More tools.

2. Select Extensions.

3. On the extensions page, click the Remove button to delete the app.

4. A confirmation dialog appears, click Remove.

5. Click the customize icon and select Exit to quit Chrome completely. It's important!

6. Launch Chrome.
