Google has released the new stable version 143 of its Chrome web browser for all supported desktop and mobile operating systems. Google Chrome 143 introduces deeper Google AI (Gemini) integration, including support for YouTube as one of Gemini's built-in tools.
This significant feature allows Gemini to understand the content of YouTube pages and offer immediate assistance, such as generating overviews, highlighting key points, or providing contextual help—all without the user needing to leave the current tab.
YouTube joins a suite of other integrated tools, including Gmail, Maps, Drive, Calendar, Google Keep, and Tasks. This integration means Gemini can not only interact directly with the open YouTube page but also utilize cross-tab context, analyzing the content of up to 10 tabs simultaneously.
This powerful capability lets users ask questions that span multiple pages, such as comparing the content of several YouTube videos.
When enabled, Gemini's YouTube features unlock new analytical possibilities, allowing users to compare content across tabs and extract useful information from videos. While Google's release notes broadly confirm that Gemini can "include YouTube tools," they do not provide an exhaustive public list of specific features in Chrome 143.
